Colony located off the coast of Sarasota offers 21 tennis courts,
10 soft surface and two are lighted for night play. The hotel's
friendly tennis staff includes 10 qualified professionals who give
innovative and fun lessons and clinics to guests of all ages and
ability levels. Two full-time tennis hosts can help guests to reserve
a court, schedule private or group instruction and find a match
of your choice.
Tennis
court time is always free at The Colony and the tennis staff provides
a free game matching service for adult guests who want single or
doubles matches at their level. Matches are guaranteed with four
hours notice.

Wheter you wanted to be a net rusher or an aggressive baseliner, our
pros will show you how to devise a plan to become a more effective
aggressor.

JUNIOR
TENNIS AT THE COLONY

Whether you are trying to improve your strokes, make your high school
team, or be selected for a University varsity team, this is the
practice for you.
Age 7 to 11
(All Levels)
If you want to develop your strokes, understand strategy or become
quicker on your feet this practice is best suited for your needs.
Junior Corner (All
levels, complimentary)
Whether you need to work on fundamentals, match play, or footwork
this is your opportunity to meet other players your caliber with
the assistance of one of our world class pros.
Tiny Tots Tennis (Age
3 to 6, complimentary)
For children learning tennis is fun, especially in a group setting.
Tiny Tots tennis is a 30 minute program designed to introduce tennis's
first steps to small children. The emphasis of this class is the
development of basic motor skills through a variety of creative
fun games.
Junior Match Play
The Colony has long been a sipporter of junior tennis. Whether you
are a new player that has never stepped on court or a tournament
level player, we will find a match for you when you visit. Stop
by the Tennis Center and add your name to the list for match making
and you're on your way!

MATCH-MAKING SERVICE (Adults)

GAME LIST (Juniors)
We keep an ongoing list of juniors looking
for matches at the tennis desk. Junior guests are encouraged to
visit the desk and sign up if looking for a partner.
SATURDAY AFTERNOON TENNIS SOCIAL
A great way to meet other guests and The Colony
Pro Staff. Play games, pick up some tips and techniques and enjoy
a court-side beverage.
TINY TOTS TENNIS
This is a fun-filled 1/2 hour of tennis games
guaranteed to make those first on-court experiences memorable. Ages
3 to 6.
EXHIBITIONS (Seasonal)
Guests can pick up a tip or two watching a
competitive exhibition match between Colony pros or visiting celebrity
players.
ROUND ROBINS (Seasonal)
Participate in one of our social mixers; men's,
women's, or mixed-doubles Round Robins.
FITNESS TENNIS
(Seasonal)
Join us in this lively workout that will get
your heart pumping, burn calories, keep you running and practice
hitting the ball. Fitness Tennis is the hottest new trend in getting
in a great workout and improving your on-court skills.
RACQUET EVALUATION
Our tennis staff will gladly help you answer
any questions regarding your equipment, or offer guidance in selecting
new equipment from
